The formal living room at Arch House is a delight to the senses - there is much to explore, even within its light neutral palette. The first thing that catches the eye is the irregularly-shaped rug that weaves together an array of diverse forms - a

And then, a duo of decorative Roman columns beckon next, flanked by four pendant lamps at each corner (in IDent-3’s words, "why does the pendant light always have to be in the center of the room, anyway?").

Up close, the white marble fireplace unveils its intricately carved details. Alongside, a pair of prussian blue curtains lead you through an archway, where the theatre awaits.

Here, darkness reigns and rugged textures play beneath dim lights - a dramatic contrast to the room you've just left behind.

One of the things I really enjoy about full-day shoots (notwithstanding the long hours) is being able to observe and document the way the light changes throughout the day, and subsequently how spaces are completely transformed by it.

Here at IDent-3’s Arch House, late afternoon sun weaves intricate patterns of shadow across the white marble floors; and as twilight descends, the quartzite marble counter becomes a luminous centerpiece, bathed in a gentle backlit glow.

In the fleeting blue hour, the house assumes a dreamy, fairytale-like allure.

I remember the evening I captured these frames - it was during the holy month of Ramadan, and homeowners Jerry and Annie had graciously invited IDent-3 and me to join them for buka puasa.

After an afternoon of shooting, we gathered in their stunning dining room and sat down to an equally delectable home-cooked Indian meal (of which I, unreservedly, took home enough leftovers to feed a small family).
